The jail is called the Bastille in official sheriff materials. The mail address is Sherman County Bastille, 813 1/2 Broadway, Goodland, KS 67735, with the inmate's name placed above the facility name. That local name is important because sheriff pages use it for visitation, mail, and jail rules.

The public Sherman County inmate roster is not a search form. The research found no search input, dropdown, or button. It is a list of current entries that may show a booking date, name, current charges or custody reason, arresting agency, bond text, and booking image. Roster examples observed on July 1, 2026 included drug, battery, disorderly conduct, probation violation, failure to appear, warrant arrest, traffic, insurance, license, and other-jurisdiction hold entries. Arresting agencies included the Sherman County Sheriff's Office, Goodland Police Department, and Kansas Highway Patrol.

Use the Sherman County Roster

Because the roster is a list, the right action is to review the current roster entries rather than enter a name into fields. A person who is not on the roster may have been released, transferred, held in another jurisdiction, sentenced to KDOC custody, or never booked into the Bastille. The roster also does not show a full District Court case file, so charges and outcomes should be verified through court sources when case status matters.

The roster may show "No Bond," "Body Only," cash or surety amounts, or combined bond language. Those terms affect release options, but the court or sheriff should confirm current bond status before travel or payment.

Sherman County Inmate Search Fields

The required search-field table is different in Sherman County because no roster search fields were observed. Publishing invented fields such as last name, booking number, or date of birth would conflict with the research. The table below records the verified structure: a public roster list, not a form.

Sherman County Bastille Facility

The Bastille is the local jail facility tied to sheriff custody. The research did not locate a separate capacity figure, pod list, or second county jail facility. Mail, visitation, medication, property, phone, and commissary rules are published through the Sheriff's Office FAQ and inmate information pages. People planning a visit or sending items should use the sheriff source rather than assuming rules from another Kansas jail.

For mail, use the inmate's name, then Sherman County Bastille, 813 1/2 Broadway, Goodland, KS 67735. Staff cannot transfer calls to inmate phones or pass messages by policy, so mail and approved phone systems are the main contact paths.

VINE and KDOC KASPER

Kansas VINE and KDOC KASPER serve different inmate-record needs. Kansas VINE, available through the Attorney General and VINELink, lets users search county jail custody status and register for phone or email notification when custody status changes. The VINE number is 1-866-574-7463. The research states VINE is county-jail specific and does not include KDOC state-prison offenders.

KDOC KASPER is the state offender search for people sentenced to custody of the Kansas Secretary of Corrections since 1980. KDOC says it includes current incarceration, post-incarceration supervision, and discharged status, with updates daily except weekends. Fields can include name, KDOC number, date of birth, physical description, photograph, crimes of conviction, county, case number, anticipated release date, housing location, movements, and parole office location.

Sherman County Jail Visitation

The sheriff sources give two slightly different on-site video visitation windows. The inmate information page says video visitation at the Sheriff's Office is Mondays and Thursdays from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. MST, with sign-in by 4:00 p.m. MST. The FAQ says the Bastille is open for video visitation Mondays and Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. MST, also with sign-in by 4:00 p.m. MST. Because both are official, call the Sheriff's Office the day of the visit to confirm.

Mail, Phone, and Commissary

Incoming mail must be addressed to the inmate at the Sherman County Bastille. The FAQ explains that mail is the common outside contact method because staff cannot transfer phone calls to inmates or give messages. Inmates may call collect or buy calling cards through the commissary system. Outside phone cards cannot be brought in and will not work on the inmate phone system.

The jail does not accept outside clothes, stamps, toiletries, or similar items because those items are available through commissary. Friends and family can purchase items through InmateCanteen/JailATM, and the item will be delivered to the inmate. Prescribed medication may be brought in if prescribed by a doctor, correctly labeled by the pharmacy, and sealed. Tylenol, aspirin, and IBU can be bought from the office.

No official local fee table for deposits, messages, video calls, or commissary items was found. Check current provider fees inside the InmateCanteen or JailATM account before paying.

Goodland Police and Arrest Sources

Not every listed inmate is arrested by the Sheriff's Office. The roster examples included Goodland Police Department and Kansas Highway Patrol as arresting agencies. The official Goodland Police Department page says the department is a full-service law-enforcement agency responsible for enforcing state statutes and city ordinances within Goodland city limits, with 24-hour patrol coverage, an investigator, and a narcotics-detecting police canine.

City arrests can lead to Bastille bookings. Review the official Goodland Police Department page when the arresting agency listed on the roster is city police.

Police contact does not replace jail custody confirmation. Call the Sheriff's Office for current inmate, bond, visitation, or release questions.

Reports and Restricted Jail Data

Sheriff report copies are requested by stopping by the office or mailing Sherman County Sheriff's Office, Attn: Reports, 813 1/2 Broadway, Goodland, KS 67735. The sheriff FAQ says report copies cost $2, with an added fee if pictures are included. Accident reports are typically filed with the office manager within two days of the accident. These report rules are separate from the jail roster.

Kansas public access limits still apply to jail and arrest records. Juvenile records, open or investigatory criminal case paperwork, sealed or expunged records, and protected personal information may be restricted. Registered offender information is another separate process; the sheriff FAQ says registered offenders must register at the Sheriff's Office during normal business hours and pay $20 for each registration or update.
